While the devastation from Irma affected all of the keys, we are a resilient people and will be back up and running as soon as we can. We've already heard positive word from the Dolphin Research Center and have spotted Key Deer. Rest Assured that Up The Keys! tours will be open as soon as we can, bringing you to these destinations at a time when they may need it most.

Help the organizations in the Florida Keys that need help.

While there are many opportunities to make donations to very worthy causes, there are a few organizations that we support in the Florida Keys that need funding, supplies, and volunteers to recover and rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, which ravaged the Florida Keys and Key West on September 10, 2017. Those near and dear to us at Up The Keys are listed below. We will add to this list as we gather more information about the status of our beloved island chain. These are places we support and that we visit on our tours.

Grimal Grove

Grimal Grove received a lot of damage during Hurricane Irma. Click here for an article that describes the grove and her future. They need donations and volunteers to recover from the storm. We will be offering volunteer trips to help restore the grove. In the meantime, please consider a monetary donation to this unique fruit grove. For more information and to send a donation, here's a direct link to Grimal Grove.

National Key Deer Refuge
The Key Deer survived! The Refuge has requested that residents put out fresh water to help them recover from the storm. Much of their water has been tainted with salt water. We're so glad they made it! Food sources seem to be okay for now, but the refuge needs volunteers to help with disaster clean up. For more information on how you can help, visit Friends & Volunteers of Refuges, the non-profit that supports the wildlife refuges of the Florida Keys.

Dolphin Research Center
Dolphin Research Center will most likely be closed for several weeks to recover from Hurricane Irma. To help DRC in this effort, please donate today. The Gift Shop Balcony overhang and awning took a hit from Irma, but the iconic sign and dolphin statue are still standing. There is a lot of debris to clean up and possibly more building damage. Here's a direct link to more information and to donate to the Dolphin Research Center.

Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden
One of the oldest tourist attractions in the Keys, this unique garden sustained a lot of damage during the hurricane. The garden needs both monetary donations and volunteer time to recover from the storm. Please visit keywest.garden for more information.
